WHAT IS AN APPRENTICESHIP?
Apprenticeship is an industry-driven, high-quality career pathway where we, as an education provider, partner with employers to develop and prepare their future workforce. Individuals can obtain paid work experience, classroom instruction, and a recognized credential which ensures eligibility to obtain licensure in their industry of interest. The timeframe for all approved programs (Cosmetology, Barber, Hairstyling, Nail Technician, and Esthetician) is 2000 hours, or an estimated 12.5 to 14 months on a full-time schedule.
There are five key components of an apprenticeship. These components differentiate apprenticeships from other types of workplace training programs:
1. PAID JOB
Apprenticeships are actual jobs, and apprentices earn wages from their employers, enabling them to earn while you learn.
2. CLASSROOM LEARNING
Our apprenticeship program offers not only on-the-job training but also classroom instruction and theoretical education through an existing, approved, and regulated program.
3. WORK-BASED LEARNING
Programs provide structured on-the-job learning through a hybrid approach. We, as an institution, are integral in ensuring that apprentices are supported by both our employer partners as well as by us.
4. MENTORSHIP
This component offers apprentices the opportunity to build connections with educators and mentors at the employer site, providing a support system to help achieve their goals.
5. CREDENTIALS
Upon completion of the program, apprentices will earn a recognized credential to obtain licensure in the State of Colorado. Additionally, our institution and related instruction providers will assist in applying, preparing, and guiding apprentices for their state board examinations, both practical and written.

- COSMETOLOGY: 2000 Hours, Estimated Cost $14,000.00 Tuition
- BARBER: 2000 Hours, Estimated Cost $10,000.00 Tuition
- HAIRSTYLING: 2000 Hours, Estimated Cost $8,500.00 Tuition
- NAIL TECHNICIAN: 2000 Hours, Estimated Cost $5,000.00 Tuition
- ESTHETICIAN: 2000 Hours, Estimated Cost $6,000.00 Tuition
While our institution offers both standard programs and the new apprenticeship program, there are key differences to consider:
-The hours required for the apprenticeship and standard programs differ.
- The apprenticeship involves offsite learning at a partner employer, such as Hugos Barbershop, allowing for professional development through structured education.
- The apprenticeship offers a personalized 1-on-1 education plan, with slots determined through interviews with both the institution and employer.
- The apprenticeship is a paid program, with employers agreeing to provide hourly wages during the training period.
